 The Crowsnest Historical Society was formed in 1973 by a group of concerned citizens who recognized the need to preserve the unique cultural history of the Crowsnest Pass which was quickly disappearing.

Crowsnest and its People – Sold Out

It was decided that a book telling the history of the Crowsnest Pass would be written. The book itself would be a fundraiser and could generate money for a future museum while preserving and telling the story. After over five years in the making, "Crowsnest and its People" was published in 1976. It became a best seller and award winner. The book is a history of the first 50 years of the Crowsnest Pass from the 1890's to 1945.  Although no longer in publication the book can be found online at  Our Future Our Past  under "Local Histories".

Photo Companion - Crowsnest and its people - Sold Out

In 1990 The Crowsnest Historical Society published the "Photo Companion - Crowsnest and its people".  This book compliments the first book "Crowsnest & its people" with an additional 1000 photos and stories.

Crowsnest and Its People Millennium Edition

In the year 2000 the Crowsnest Historical Society published a third book "Crowsnest and Its People Millennium Edition".  This third edition covers the history of the Crowsnest Pass from 1950 to 2000 with some addition information from the early 1900's.
